Wilton Park

Exterior view of Latimer House

Wilton Park is located on the edge of Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire. It functioned as the second site for bugging the conversations of lower rank enemy prisoners. The stately home was known as the White House, and housed the Officers' Mess, as well as rooms where the Italian Generals were held for a time. In the grounds were specially constructed buildings that housed the prisoners' cells, the interrogation rooms, the administration block and an M Room. Lots of Nissen huts were also erected in the grounds for the staff. This site opened as another listening station in December 1942. Some German Generals were brought here from the battlefields to be interrogated and then moved to their other quarters at Trent Park.
